Activity 7 Supporting activities

Supporting activities cover mainly coordination with other projects and organization of the Advisory Committee

Task 7.1: Coordination with on-going and future projects

During the entire life of the SafeMeD II project, REMPEC ensures co-ordination with  on-going and future projects involving Mediterranean countries and related to the maritime sector, both at EU and international level. Specific attention is paid in this respect to the ongoing Euromed Transport Project, of which SafeMed II is part of. In this respect, SafeMed II participates in the Expert Group led by CETMO and established under Action 18 of the Regional Transport Action Plan, develops close relations with the Motorways of the Seas Project, and liaised with the maritime safety twinning projects that took place in Egypt, Morocco and Turkey. The Project also coordinates with  IMO’s Integrated Technical Co-operation Programme (ITCP).

Task 7.3 Advisory Committee

The Maritime Safety working sub-group of the Euro-Mediterranean Transport Forum acts as the Advisory Committee of the Project.

The 2nd Adv. Committee will take place 9 June 2010

 

 

The 6th Maritime Safety Sub-Group (Safemed II Project Advisory Committee which forms part of the 2nd Meeting of the Maritime Affairs, Ports and Short Sea Shipping Working Group will take place on the 24th October 2011.
