Partners
The SAFEMED project is an initiative of the European Commission developed by the Euro-Mediterranean Transport Forum intended for the Mediterranean partners as defined in the 1995 Barcelona Conference. The ten beneficiaries of the SAFEMED Project are the following:
- Algeria,
- Egypt,
- Israel,
- Jordan,
- Lebanon,
- Morocco,
- the Palestinian Authority,
- Syria,
- Tunisia, and
- Turkey
In April 2010, through additional Instrument of Pre-Accession funds, some Safemed II Project Tasks have also been extended to four Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) South East European States, namely, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.
Moreover, in March 2012, following an amendment to the Safemed II Project contract, Libya was also integrated into the Project.
